If you still don't have a clue about Death Game genre, then "Hunger Games" the movie from Hollywood is one of them.

1. Battle Royale (2000)

Battle Royale (バトル・ロワイアル Batoru Rowaiaru) is a 2000 Japanese film adapted from the 1999 novel of the same name by Koushun Takami.
Plot
The film tells the story of Shuya Nanahara (Fujiwara Tatsuya), a junior high school student who was away field trips along with school friends, but they are gassed, fitted with electronic collars, and sent to a "briefing room" on a remote island. Their teacher, Kitano explains that the class has been chosen to participate in the annual Battle Royale. Since Japan is in a state of collapse, unemployment is endemic and school violence is out of control, the beleaguered government retaliates with Battle Royale. A cheerful orientation video instructs the class they have three days to kill each other until only one remains. The rules of the game are simple:
1) it lasts three days
2) Each player starts with food, water and a "weapon"
3) if more than one player survives, everyone dies (by detonating special electronic necklaces
4) there is no escape.
What we like?
Can you imagine being left in an island in the middle of nowhere and you have to kill your own friends in order to stay alive? Every SINGLE thing in this movie is terrifying.

As The Gods Will (神さまの言うとおり Kamisama no Iu Toori) is a 2014 Japanese film based on the manga series "Kamisama no Iu Toori" by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Akeji Fujimura (published from March, 2011 to November, 2012 by Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine)
Plot
An usual class activity suddenly turned into disaster as the head of a teacher suddenly exploded. Shun Takahata (Fukushi Sota) and his classmates are forced to play a game of death without knowing who, why or how. The students forcefully play the death game with Daruma, Maneki Neko, Kokeshi and others.

What We Like?
If you're too scared to watch Battle Royale, this one might be a better option for you to watch. Honestly, we haven't read the manga. But as we watched it, we like it because we can see many Japanese traditional dolls, such as Daruma and Kokeshi. Chaca even own two Maneki Neko! We're truly amazed the ideas to put this traditional toys into a Death Game genre manga.

3. Judge (2013)

Judge (ジャッジ Jyajj) is a 2013 Japanese film  Based on the manga series "Judge" by Yoshiki Tonogai (published by monthly magazine Gangan from February, 2010 to September, 2012)
Plot
Seven people who committed the seven deadly sins : lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy and pride are locked up in a sealed space by someone. These seven people must play a game which is a matter of life or death. Each sins has an animal representative, pig as symbol of greed, rabbit as a symbol of lust and wolf as a symbol of wrath, for examples. The death will be decided by votes of the other persons, based on the sin's level.

What We Like?
"Seven Deadly Sins" might be sounds familiar in our ears. Rather than focus on the way of the actors' death (all electrocuted to death), actually we learn a lot about the judgement more. What we mean were like, how can you measure someone's mistake or sins when you are a sinner yourself? We felt so tense, when the actors in this movie were deciding who would they choose to die next.
